1. Riverview Park and Zoo Special Summer Concert Series

WHERE: Riverview Park and Zoo Gazebo, 1300 Water Street

WHEN: Bi-weekly on Sundays beginning May 26th. 2:00-4:00 pm

Kick off your summer Sundays at Riverview Park and Zoo with their Summer Concert Series. Every other Sunday, from May 26th onwards, the gazebo comes alive with the sounds of local artists and musicians from 2-4pm. Check out the schedule here. 

While you’re there, don’t forget to explore the zoo’s exhibits and take a scenic train ride through the park. It’s the perfect way to spend a sunny afternoon with family and friends. The summer operating season kicks off May 18th, and the train will operate daily from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, weather permitting. 

2. Dragon Boat Festival

WHERE: Del Crary Park, 100 George Street North

WHEN: June 8th, All day event

Paddle your way to Del Crary Park on June 8th for a fun day at the Dragon Boat Festival. Not only is it a thrilling event to watch with 57 teams participating, but it also serves an important cause as a fundraiser for the PRHC Cancer Foundation, promoting Breast Cancer Awareness. 3. Pet Fest at the Peterborough Animal Care Centre

WHERE: 1900 Technology Drive, Peterborough Animal Care Centre

WHEN: June 22, 10:00-2:00

Calling all animal lovers! Join the festivities at Pet Fest, held at the Peterborough Animal Care Centre on Saturday, June 22. Bring your family, friends, and pets! From 10:00am to 2:00pm, enjoy a day filled with fun, featuring local vendors, food trucks, children’s activities, and live music. This is a pet-friendly event that you won’t want to miss. 4. Peterborough Folk Festival

WHERE: Nicholls Oval Park, 725 Armour Road

WHEN: August 15-18

Celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Peterborough Folk Festival from August 15th to 18th at Nicholls Oval Park stage. While the festival kicks off with ticketed events on the 15th and 16th, the free festivities on the 17th and 18th promise enchanting performances against the backdrop of beautiful Nicholls Oval Park.
